Chocolate gingerbread boys and girls

 I just loves these chocolate kids! They were super easy to make! I used a non stick cake pan mold to make these delightful little people. I melted merkins aka "stay at home mom chocolate" (tempered chocolate) in the microwave. Then I filled up the molds with the chocolate, I put the pan on my balcony because I wanted it to set quickly, thank goodness for the lovely Canadian winters! Sure enough 30 minutes later they popped right out. The trick is not to hesitate when flipping then over, it's sort of a all or nothing kind of deal. Worst comes to worst if they break, just melt them back down and do it again. Ain't no thang. Then I piped them with royal icing. Aren't they just the cutest things?
